Traci O. Connor

Author of Recipes for Endangered Species

Tracy O Connor Bw

Traci is a writer, teacher, mother, former radio and TV personality, and a college basketball player a long time ago. Every day of her life, strangers ask her how tall she is - 6’ 1”

She holds an M.F.A. and a PhD in literature and creative writing from the University of Utah and is currently an assistant professor at Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. Here are a few things Traci likes:

  • bad and—much less often, like when she’s talking to other PhDs for example—good TV
  • summers living in a tool shed at the edge of the Allegheny River
  • busting out walls with a BFH
  • when her kids call her “Princess Badass,” whilst serving her coffee in bed

Traci recently published a book of short stories called Recipes for Endangered Species, and has completed a collection of short pieces exploring her Mormon background and its reverberations throughout her life and her relationships. She lives in Greensboro with her spouse—the writer Jackson Connor—their four children, one labradoodle and a “cat.”
