Sara Peña was introduced by a friend to The Monti and impulsively pitched a story idea without having attended a show. Eight minutes later after sending the pitch in an email, she received a reply and realized how fun this could be. She was even more blown away at being selected for the opportunity when she saw such a supportive audience at her first StorySLAM. Sara works in a public school system and will pick a noisy hallway over a computer anyday. She is someone who prioritizes packing a hula hoop when moving down the east coast, is always singing in wedding reception photos and who is still waiting for a reply from a 2018 instagram direct message to multi-hyphenate musical artist Pitbull. She started @howtotalktoteachers to support communication between families and teachers, and spends her free time urban hiking with her spouse Roger and their two littles.
