Pooja Bakhai

As a graduate of Stanford University with honors in Human Biology, Pooja’s academic and professional journey includes working with UN Women on gender-responsive HIV/AIDS initiatives and teaching biology in NYC. Pooja continued her education journey at the PhD program at Harvard, where she taught & researched on the intersections of racism, power dynamics within schools, and learning. After her stage four cancer diagnosis and cure, Pooja left the PhD to pursue her true passion for helping others to live fearlessly and authentically.
Pooja is also the co-author of Cosmic Wilderness, a poetry collection born from her time learning with indigenous communities in the Amazon Rainforest. She’s lived in India, Mexico, Ecuador and Colombia, and now resides in Raleigh, NC with her budding family. You can read more about Pooja at poojabakhai.com.
