Montek Singh
Computer Science professor at UNC
Montek Singh grew up in Delhi, India, and came to New York to go to graduate school at Columbia University, before moving to North Carolina in 2001 to take up a faculty position at UNC Chapel Hill. He is an Associate Professor of computer science, and spends most of his time trying to design better camera sensors and computer chips that run faster and consume less energy. He spends the rest of his time cooking Indian food, learning how to swim, being a dad of two and an awesome husband to Mary, though not necessarily in that order of preference. In his past life he used to spin music as DJ Turbanator. His favorite life tip: When faced with a really difficult choice, it often matters very little what you choose; but when you come to a fork in the road, pick the route with the better food selection.
