Rural North Carolina was a place of endless exploration that included tree houses, herbal remedies, and leaf collections. This started Micheala on her journey of curiosity, which led to a career in science and fueled a lifelong love affair with the pursuit of knowledge that took her to study in Norway and England. While studying abroad, she gravitated toward and began to understand the uniqueness of cultures. That uniqueness beckoned her to explore the world and seek out adventurous countries, such as Vietnam, Swaziland, Egypt—to name a few—and their people. She enjoys mentoring youth, the local food scene, spoken word, and following her passions.
