Kristyn Yelton
Clinician and Vocational Specialist with Lutheran Services Carolinas
Kristyn Yelton is a hiker, a social worker, a singer, a swimmer, and a healer. She was born in Durham, and raised in Raleigh, before moving to Chapel Hill and then back to Durham again. She has also lived in Cedar Grove, Hillsborough and Chapel Hill – her roots are in North Carolina. Kristyn graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC where she earned a degree in Social Work and a minor in Psychology and has made a career out of helping others. She worked with OPC Area Program and then XDS Inc. on an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team, before moving to Lutheran Services Carolinas where she continues to work on an ACT Team, providing mental health services to adults with severe and persistent mental illness and dual diagnosis. Taking on challenges is part of her daily routine…so, why not step out on a limb?
