Internationally acclaimed photographer Jesse Kalisher has been a regular on National Public Radio. A commentator for Marketplace and a story teller on Savvy Traveler, Weekend America and Day to Day, Jesse has also been a frequent guest and a week-long guest host for WUNC’s The State of Things. As a visual artist, Jesse is credited with having taken the first photographs of Barack Obama to be acquired by the Smithsonian. In addition to the Smithsonian, Jesse’s photography sits in other museum collections ranging from the Louvre to the DeYoung Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco. A critically acclaimed story-teller with his camera, Jesse’s also an avid storyteller on stage. His one-hour monolog “We’re Not the Tourists You’re Looking For” was well received in San Francisco’s Marsh Theater, The University of North Carolina and Carrboro’s ArtsCenter.
