Jamie McLendon
Artist and Musician
Jamie McLendon was born and raised in North Carolina. He received his BS in Graphic Design at Appalachian State University, against all odds. His professional life has included stints as a soda jerk, stagehand, prop artist, hosiery designer, pre-press technician, gallery owner, and sign painter. His latest artistic venture has been painting large monster heads on plywood. Jamie has been a constant presence on the local music scene for the past 18 years, releasing two albums with his rock 'n' roll band Dom Casual, and currently sings and plays fuzz guitar for 60s garage rock archivists Thee Dirtybeats. He also serves as the graphics manager for Ipas, a women’s reproductive health rights NGO based in Chapel Hill. He lives with his soul mate and their four-legged child in Durham. He is an Eagle Scout.
