After spending a decade in English classrooms replacing Shakespeare’s plays with copies of Spider-Man, Jabari took a step away from teaching to live the quiet life of an early morning barista at a coffee shop located next to an ER. In between pulling shots of espresso, Jabari writes and edits curriculum for a literacy nonprofit. Any time left over, he devotes to storytelling. And there’s always time for a story
