Danny Bowman
Ph.D. student in volcano seismology at UNC
Danny Bowman fulfilled a lifelong ambition to study volcanoes when he became a doctorate student in geophysics at UNC Chapel Hill. He uses sound waves to decipher the physics of volcanic activity using novel signal processing methods and instrument array configurations. In his free time, he launches helium balloons carrying cameras into the stratosphere and builds gigantic solar powered hot air balloons for lower altitude flights. His balloon projects cruise at bovineaerospace.wordpress.com and on the Bovine Aerospace YouTube channel. He lives with his wife and numerous pets in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
