Cooper Thornton
The Happy Depressive
Cooper Thornton earned his graduate degrees in acting in Cincinnati, Ohio and Cardiff, Wales. He then returned home to Nashville, TN to teach theater performance and co-found the Spontaneous Comedy Company, a company built for balls-out game, long form, and musical improv, which is still active today, some 25 years later. He bailed on the job security of improv gigging and moved to LA in pursuit of on-camera work and teamed up with The Groundlings and The Empty Stage for further improv training. After twenty years in LA, and two children later, Cooper calls NC home and is an advocate for mental health, a huge fan of his boys, and an occasional paid actor when he and/or the writers are not on strike. And he is a lifelong lover of people and their stories. He is also a regular contributor to Medium.com where he is a one time Top Writer.
