Alyssa grew up in Louisiana, a state with a patchwork of cultures, traditions, and stories unlike anywhere else. She got her start in community organizing in Shreveport, LA, where she developed a deep love for exploring human connection. She has always been drawn to spaces where art and people interact, whether that’s collaborating on creative projects, building programs that help communities thrive, or chasing the wonders of every day life. Alyssa believes stories are where we make meaning of chaos, and she’s endlessly curious about the ways we show up for one another. Now based in Durham, she can be found putting her time and energy towards food and housing accessibility efforts, mentorship programs, making yet another attempt at urban foraging, or cosplaying at the nearest convention.
