Now Accepting Pitches for 'Busted' on June 7, 2025

We all know that sinking feeling when you realize you’ve been caught. Maybe it was a harmless fib that unraveled fast, a rule you thought you could bend, or a secret you swore no one would ever find out. We want to hear your tales of getting Busted. On Saturday, June 7th, we’re diving into the moments when the cover’s blown, the curtain’s pulled back, and there’s no talking your way out of it. Whether it was getting called out, caught red-handed, or exposed in a way you never saw coming, we want your stories of getting caught—messy, hilarious, mortifying, or maybe even freeing.

NOTE: there are other ways to interpret the theme, Busted (eg. a fall where something is broken), and we are open to all ideas.

Submitting your pitch

If you feel that you have a story that would be a good fit for Love Tough, send a 200-word pitch to The Monti by emailing pitch@themonti.org before May 7th. One of our producers will read the pitch and respond to you promptly. There is no guarantee that we will accept your pitch. We may ask follow-up questions or make comments on what has been presented.

If we like your pitch, we will pass it along to our Executive Director, Jeff Polish. He will make the decision on whether or not you will be invited to tell a story at our June 7th show, and we will work collaboratively with you to develop your story and performance.

We will aim to make our decisions and notify selected storytellers by Friday, May 9th.

A good pitch is one that tells us:

  1. What happens in the story.
  2. How the character(s) change as a result of the action in the story.
  3. What you think the story is about.

It's ok if you don't have all the answers. If the pitch is compelling enough, we will help you to develop the structure and flow.

Send your 200-word pitch to pitch@themonti.org.
